‘Skin-to-skin’ is a set of ceramic relief prints and accompanying excerpts of creative writing, that have been generated through a therapeutic and ritualistic process of walking and responding to the earth.

As the Earth whispers, the illustrator focus her attention, responding with touch, pause and deep observation, recognising and honouring the features and living artefacts in a landscape. The aim of these immersive walks is to reciprocally bond with the Earth, to give voice to the elements of a place and in return to find solace and comfort in their presence.

In moments of connection a pressing is taken, this acts as a momento of a shared experience between Mother Earth and her human inhabitants in a creative practice akin to awe walking and forest bathing.

Glazes have been selected to replicate the intricacy, textures and colours of the bio-subjects.
