The Moon and Montgomery is a children’s book published by Penguin Random House as the outcome of a project initiated by the Ministry of Stories. The book was written by 9 year old Selin Karaaslan during a series of creative writing workshops held by the Ministry of Stories. I then worked closely with Selin to illustrate the story and bring her vision to life. A charming tale of a (really very tiny) boy who longs to go to the moon, this story immediately captured my heart and imagination as an illustrator and the project spoke to my belief that art and design should be utilised as a tool for empowerment and the application of agency and independence in all our lives.
